Summer Update 2010
Kianna Karielle just finished 7th grade at St. Mary’s. She loves soccer and also sings in the choir. Like Keisha, she is very organized, and is always reliable in completing daily chores. She loves to be in the kitchen, and is a very meticulous chopper. She has a great sense of humor, and is constantly laughing at someone’s joke. Like Marissa, Kianna can cook most anything and can prepare a complete meal without directions.
Summer Update 2010
Brianne Kristina and her husband celebrated their 1st Wedding Anniversary this year on May 30. They now reside in a townhouse in downtown Portland, Oregon. Her husband works in computer technology and programming. He moved from India to the U.S. about nine years ago.
Brianne will be finishing her Ph.D dissertation for social work, Differential Parenting. She plans to be able to defend her Ph.D. before her 30th birthday on September 29, 2010, then plans to graduate from the doctorate program before the year ends.
Brianne and her husband joined us in Sandpoint, Idaho, over Independence Day to visit family and enjoy the 4th of July holiday. They returned to Portland on June 5th, taking Keisha and Kianna with them. Keisha and Kianna spent 2 weeks there for some special time. They had lots of fun and spent some quality time bonding with their sisters and sisters-in-law. Keisha and Kianna did all sorts of fun things, such as hiking, soccer, camping, going to the library, listening to tapes, cooking, and art classes. Brianne and her husband are both vegetarians, so they introduced a lot of vegetarian cuisine to Keisha and Kianna, and they said that everything was very delicious. We are sure glad to have them home safe and sound.
We hope to get over to Portland sometime this fall.

Ethiopian Adoption
I am the mother of 3 beautiful sibling sisters from Ethiopia and wanted to share some information and facts about Ethiopian adoption with you. Please read the article below and share your experience with Ethiopian adoptions.
Thanks
Karen Hood
Ethiopia Adoption: The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia is a developing country in East Africa comprised of 9 states and 2 city administrations.
In the US, a growing number of children are available for Ethiopian Adoption. For the calendar year 2005, 440 children were adopted. There are a limited number of adoption agencies licensed to facilitate adoptions in Ethiopia.
There are very few restrictions on prospective adoptive parents looking into Ethiopia Adoption placed by the government. Prospective parents must be 25 to 55 years old and married couples and singles are eligible to adopt. There are some restrictions relating to the age of the prospective parent and what age child they are allowed to adopt.
There are a wide range of children available of all ages in Ethiopia Adoption. Siblings and special needs children are also available and there is a need for adoptive parents for both boys and girls.
Ethiopia, like many countries, allows children to be escorted by agency representatives to meet their new parents. Travel is not a requirement.
Ongoing political unrest in Ethiopia has resulted in the U. S. State Department issuing travel precautions for areas of Ethiopia which makes the escort option appealing to many looking in to Ethiopia Adoption.
